Since then, I have received responses from Ward, <br />Burleigh, and Grand Forks Counties on their programs, as well as from Lisa Jahner <br />from the North Dakota Association of Counties with an overview of all counties. <br />Their responses are attached. <br /> <br />I have attached a blueprint showing the space currently used, approximately 270 <br />square feet, at the Cass County Annex. The auditor recommends using an estimate <br />of $12/square foot, which would come to about $3,240 per year to rent the space at <br />the Annex. <br /> <br />I have also had a chance to review this item with Chip Ammerman, and he believes <br />he can effectively use the Attendant Care facility as a "last resort" for placement of <br />children. <br /> <br />SUGGESTED MOTION: <br />Move to establish a monthly rent payment for Lutheran Social Services for the <br />attendant care facility located in the Cass County Annex in the amount of $270 per <br />month effective July 1, 2008. <br /> <br />OR <br /> <br />SUGGESTED MOTION: <br />Move to continue the rent-free arrangement and allow Cass County Social Services <br />to pay the monthly charges for children in protective custody being held at the <br />Box 2806 Attendant Care location. <br />211 Ninth Street South <br />K:\BJ\ATTENDANT CARE MEMO 7-14-08.doc <br />Fargo, North Dakota 58108 <br /> <br />701-241-5720 <br />Fax: 701-297-6020 <br />www.casscountynd.gov <br />
