Captain Carlos Perez and his staff have <br />been reviewing the current contract, revenue received, staffing requirements and operating costs. <br />Commissions received are used for inmate programs, staff salaries directly benefiting inmates, <br />inmate recreational items, inmate reading and audiovisual costs, indigent mail and hygiene costs as <br />well as paying for damages done to the facility or equipment by inmates. <br /> <br />In order to maintain and expand our jail programs, we must seek additional revenue sources and <br />look to increase those currently available to the jail. <br /> <br />Therefore, I would ask the Cass County Commission to approve the termination of our current <br />vending agreement effective September 30t\ 2008. This is in accordance with the terms of the <br />agreement found on page 3. <br /> <br />Move to approve the termination of the Vending Machine Lease Agreement with our <br />current vendor effective September 30, 2008. <br /> <br />Paul D.
