The daily <br />cost to Cass County in 2007 was $86.14 which is considerable higher than our cost of$71.15 in 2006. <br />Some of this increase is reflective of the construction of the two new housing units as well as an <br />increase in facility costs and a reduction of our daily population from 230 to 210. Deducting the cost <br />of our Court/Transport Deputies and our medical costs since each jurisdiction transports their own <br />inmates and pays for their own inmate medical costs; would result in a daily rate of $72.81. Based on <br />that calculation, it is our recommendation that a daily rate for jurisdictions within Cass County be set <br />at $75.00 and for those outside ofCass County at $85.00.
