Commission Minutes-March 17, 2008 3335 WHEREAS, one in five girls and one in ten boys will be sexually victimized before adulthood; and WHEREAS, the National Association of Counties is the only national organization that represents county governments in the United States; and WHEREAS, the National Association of Counties first celebrated National County Government Week in 1991 to raise public awareness and understanding about the roles and responsibilities of the nation's counties to meet the needs of the community; and WHEREAS, in recognition of the leadership, innovation and valuable service provided by the nation's counties, especially in the protection and welfare of children: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cass County Board of Commissioners does hereby proclaim April 6-12, 2008, as National County Government Week in Cass County. Adopt revised Section 6.02, regarding the Family Medical Leave Act, for placement in the county personnel policy manual (both on-line and by the standard distribution method with monthly checks). c. Amend Commission Policy Manual Section 4.00, Advisory Boards, and appoint Sheree Spear to fill a vacancy on the Southeast Human Services Board. d. Receive monthly financial statement from the Auditor's Office for the month ended February 29,2008. e. Approve omitted assessment according to notice sent to property owner by the county auditor. f. Authorize the state's attorney to apply for the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant and to sign the appropriate application documents, and if the grant is approved, authorize the state's attorney to sign the subsequent related grant documents. g. Approve a charity local permit to conduct a poker tournament to be held April 13, 2008, at the Knickerbocker Liquor Locker in Hickson, North Dakota, for a Relay for Life benefit. h. Contract approval GIS Web Fusion access agreements-for connection to the county's GIS application with the cities of Mapleton, Reiles Acres and Kindred; - All-Terrain Grounds Maintenance-Courthouse, Annex, Jail and Springvale Cemetery grounds maintenance. i. Approve the resolution of terminated Cass County Social Service employee's disputed claim for $3,000 and authorize the State's Attorney to prepare and sign all related documentation on behalf of Cass County Government to resolve the matter and to release Cass County Government and its employees from any and all related claims.
