<br />Commission Minutes-February 19, 2008 3322 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FEBRUARY 19, 2008 (TUESDAY) <br /> <br />1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER <br />Chairman Ken Pawluk called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as <br />follows: Scott Wagner, Darrell Vanyo, Robyn Sorum, Vern Bennett and Ken Pawluk. <br /> <br />2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />Robyn Sorum led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />3. MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded that the minutes of the <br />previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. AGENDA, Order approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Bennett seconded to approve the order of the <br />agenda as amended with the addition of a raffle permit for Sandhills <br />Archery Club. Motion carried. <br /> <br />5. CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Vanyo moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the consent <br />agenda as follows: On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />a. Amend the 2008 North Dakota Recorders Information Network (NDRIN) <br />budget by increasing the "Central Repository" line item by $125,000 and <br />authorize the county auditor to issue NDRIN refund checks to <br />participating county recorders. <br />b. Amend Commission Policy Manual Section 4.00, Advisory Boards, and <br />appoint Ski Kostman to fill a vacancy on the Cass County School <br />Reorganization Committee from Commission District 5. <br />c. Receive monthly financial statement from the Auditor's Office for the <br />month ended January 31, 2008. <br />d. Approve a raffle permit for Sandhills Archery Club to be held March 30, <br />2008, at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds in West Fargo, North Dakota. <br /> <br />6. CASS COUNTY YOUTH COMMISSION, Report bv chairman of the aroup <br />Mason Lende, Chairman of the Cass County Youth Commission and a senior at Shanley <br />High School in Fargo, was present to update the county commission on activities of the 19 <br />high school students participating in the program. Also present were some of the county <br />department representatives who serve as mentors to the youth commission, including <br />Charlotte Sandvik, Terry Schmaltz and Jim Thoreson. <br /> <br />Mr. Lende thanked the commission for their support of the program and said their meetings <br />consist of presentations about departments within county government and participation in <br />leadership activities. They are planning a substance-free dance event in May to benefit <br />area children with mobile disabilities. <br />
