- 4-

YEAR 2015 AND 2025 ROUNDABOUT ANALYSIS

The roundabout analysis looks primarily at the traffic volume at each of the four intersection
approaches. The entry volume at each approach is graphed versus the circulating volume at
the same approach. These results are then compared to the volume to capacity threshold for a
single or double-lane roundabout entrance to determine whether or not the study intersection
will operate under capacity (Chart I).

Chart 1
Roundabout Capacity Limits

3000

500

2500

:2
-
.s:::
Q)
..::. 2000
:=
o
u:
~ 1500
-
"
w
E
::l
E 1000
';c
'"
:;;

500 1000 1500 2000
Circulatory Flow (veh/h)
,- Urban & Rural Single-Lane _ _ - Urban Compact Roundabouts

2500

3000

3500

- Double-Lane Roundabout

An analysis at the intersection of CR 17/52nd Avenue was performed during the a.m. and
p.m. peak hour for traffic volumes in years 2015 and 2025. The following graphs represent
the roundabout analysis results at each intersection.
