Some of the locations we considered were:
. Fargo Civic Center & Centennial Hall
. FargoDome
. North Dakota Horse Park (including Horse Barn/Arena)
. Other public entities such as schools

We also obtained facility rental information and rental information for some of the
amenities needed like tables, chairs, equipment, janitorial services, etc. We did not
calculate an expected rental charge because in most cases the alternative was not a
viable one for the reasons we're presenting in this report.

Our findings include:

Some of these entities may partially fulfill our needs, but some of our needs
can't be fulfilled through any of these entities.
For example, the horse park could be available for 4-H horse project related
activities; but, the indoor arena is not large enough to meet our current needs. The
closest facility to meet those needs, other than the Red River Valley Fairgrounds,
would be located at the North Dakota Winter Show building at Valley City or the Red
Horse Ranch near Fergus Falls, Minnesota. In both cases, it would be an economic
disadvantage for our participants and this community, to pursue these options. We
could obtain rate structures for those two entities for comparison purposes but we
know we would not use either entity for our purpose/program. Likewise, North Dakota
State University has an indoor livestock arena but it does not provide the necessary
equipment needed to conduct a multi-species 4-H livestock show, like the one held at
the RRVF grounds in August of each year. Some of the equipment and resources
available to us would be difficult, if not impossible, to find or have available for our use
