The Advisory Commission on <br />Intergovernmental Relations is conducting a meeting on January 23, 2008 in <br />Fargo to hear testimony and discuss extra-territorial zoning. I was <br />contacted by the legislative council statT and otIcred an opportunity to <br />testify on the matter. <br /> <br />I believe it is necessary to give Cities the authority to plan for their future <br />growth. For this reason, I believe extraterritorial zoning authority should <br />extend 4 miles for cities over 25,000 and 2 miles for cities over 5.000. I've <br />enclosed a draft resolution for the Commission to consider on this matter. <br /> <br />SUGGESTED MOTION: Adopt resolution of support for 4 mile <br />extraterritorial zoning authority for cities over 25,000 and 2 mile <br />extraterritorial zoning authority for cities over 5,000 and authorize the <br />County Engineer to testify on behalf of the County Government on this <br />matter. <br /> <br />h,;\tbml!+,fj~<illtl1tli'\O'lii:oo C(l:!]~tomr.
