Harwood Pedestrian and Bicycle Crossing Study - 2007

Environmental Justice:
This project might have some short term negative impacts due to dust, noise, vibration
and delay in commuting across the overpass during the time of construction but it should
be noted that the project will result in positive benefits to the bike and pedestrian facility
users. Most of the construction for the project will use the right of way owned by the
county and will not affect any private property. The construction will not have
disproportionate negative affects on any minority or low income neighborhood.

Conceptual Figure:

~
;;;1
E
~
l
0'"
\ 100W'aIt:
ri-

~\

12' Widened deck or Cantilever includes 2' Jmey Banier
8' Shoulder

Intentate Ovapass

24' Roadway

I \ ,

Conclusion:

Figure 4.41: Proposed Bridge deck widening at 1-29 Overpass

Alternative 4 addresses the needs 2.21, 2.22 and 2.23, but does not meet the cost
effective and short term project criteria.

4.5 Alternative 5

The recommendation of this alternative is:

i.
