Our office was asked to review the <br />contract and provide a recommendation as to whether Cass County should enter into such an <br />agreement. <br /> <br />Upon review, it may be prudent for Cass County to enter into this contract for housing <br />juveniles in the event that our current Juvenile Detention Center is closed due to some <br />unforeseen emergency or if the population of the Detention Center exceeds is capacity for an <br />extended time period. A copy of the contract has been forwarded to the States Attorney. <br /> <br />Although, it is unlikely that Cass County will utilize the services of the North Dakota Youth <br />Correctional Center, I would suggest the following proposed motion. <br /> <br />Move to authorize the Chair to sign the contract with the North Dakota Youth <br />Correctional Center for the period of January 1.2007 to December 31.2008. <br /> <br />Should you have any questions, please contact me or Major Glenn Ellingsberg. <br /> <br />Paul D.
