INVESTIGA TION OF ABA TEMENT APPLICATION

ABATEMENT NO. 4306, 4307, & 4308

Following is a report on the investigation of the abatement application of: Abrahamson Family
Trust

County Board of Commissioners and State Tax Commissioner:

The applicant is asking that the residential assessment be reduced to $9,200 for the years 2005,
2006, and 2007 on their rental residential property located at 425 Clement St, City of Grandin,
The True and Full values for 2005, 2006, & 2007 are $28,900, $31,800 and $34,300 respectively,

The applicant states that the plumbing froze, while being rented, and caused extensive water
damage. The estimated restoration is $22,000. It appears that insurance will pay at least part of
the costs of repair. It is not clear when the plumbing froze. Access to the property had been
limited due to being occupied by an elderly person with health problems, who spent part of her
time in Fargo,

The City of Grandin recommended that the 2005 and 2006 abatements be denied, but that the
2007 application be approved,

Suggested Motion: "I move that the Abatement #4308 be approved and that Abatement
#4306 and #4307 be denied; as recommended by the City of Grandin and the Director of
Equalization."

Dated January 10th, 2008

~y~

Frank Klein
Director of Tax Equalization

j:ltaxlwplabate
