RECEIVED
FEB 1 8 2004
Schepp, Joyce H. (;ASS COUNTY COMMISSION

From: Berndt, Keith D.
Sent: Wednesday, February 18, 2004 10:06 AM
To: {Cass} - Commissioners
Cc: Schepp, Joyce H.
Subject: Mosquito Sprayer Bids

Follow Up Flag: Follow up

Due By: Wednesday, February 18, 2004 8:00 AM
Flag Status: Flagged

Commissioners,

I'm writing to provide a follow-up to the question posed by Commissioner Bennett during Tuesday's Commission
meeting with regard to the three new mosquito spray units. My previous memo didn't include the bids results.
Bids were received from three vendors as follows:

B & G Chemical and Equipment Company from Dallas Texas for Phoenix Model 800-MD $5,570 each

Van Diest Supply Company from McCook Nebraska - Two Bids
Cougar Unit
Grizzly Unit

$5,400 each
$6,400 each

Adapco Solutions and Technology from Sanford Florida - Two Bids
London Fog Model XKE $6,109 each
London Fog Model XKE with Monitor III $9,995 each

The recommended model was the Phoenix Model 800-MD. It was the second Iow bid, but was chosen based on
a better maintenance and performance history than with the Cougar Unit. We own current models of each
and felt the added $170 per unit was money well spent based on our history. If there are any additional
questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

_bemdt~co.cass.nd.us
www,casscountyflov.com
phone - 701.298.2372
fax- 701.297.6096

2/18/2004
