The request will include a provision for the county to cancel the outstanding taxes and the city to cancel all special assessments certified against the lots. The suggested purchase price is $1.00 for each lot plus the recording fee of $13.00 for each parcel. In anticipation of the county commission's positive action, I am sending you a list of the properties that were forfeited for non- payment of taxes in your city. I strongly urge you to acquire any property in your city, as you are in a better position to find a use or purchaser for the properties. If you wish to acquire the lots, please sign the enclosed statements of consideration and the authorization to cancel the certified special assessments against the lots. Please mail the signed statements and a check for the purchase price ($1.00 per parcel) and recording fee ($13.00 per parcel) back to our office.
