Commission Minutes--February 2, 2004 2698 <br /> <br />14. <br /> <br />RURAL ADDRESSING, Conversion of addresses to meet postal standards <br />Mike Zimney, Cass County Planner, provided a hand-out on Cass County 911 addressing. <br />Keith Berndt, County Engineer, was also present to answer any questions. Mr. Zimney said <br />there is a trend for county and city Master Street Address Guides (MSAG) to meet the <br />United States Post Office standards by eliminating the "R" in the rural addressing system. <br />He said the "R" in rural addressing is used for the 911 databases, however, it must be <br />omitted for any mailings because it causes confusion for the post office sorting system. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve the county's <br /> conversion of the Master Street Address Guide (MSAG) to meet postal <br /> standards. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />15. <br /> <br />VOUCHERS, Approved MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Bennett moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve Voucher No. <br /> 184,357 through No. 184,701. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />16. <br /> <br />CASS AND FARGO COMMISSIONERS TO HOLD JOINT MEETING; WEED/VECTOR <br />BUILDING COMMITTEE MEETING; EMPLOYEE ANNIVERSARY, Committee rel~orts <br />Bonnie Johnson asked commissioners to consider a date for a joint meeting with Fargo City <br />Commissioners to discuss items of mutual concern, and she will confirm the date after <br />conferring with City of Fargo officials. She also requested suggestions for agenda items. <br /> <br />The WeedNector Building Committee met at 12:30 PM today in Mrs. Johnson's conference <br />room. She said a draft ordinance for building construction and financing will be presented <br />for first reading at the next county commission meeting. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson and board members congratulated Joyce Schepp, Administrative Assistant, <br />for her 35-year anniversary of working for the Cass County Board of Commissioners. <br /> <br />17. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to receive and file <br /> correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />annual 2003 report of nursing services from Fargo Cass Public Health; <br />notice to adjacent property owners of a conditional use permit for expansion of archery <br />range facilities by the Sandhills Archery Park in Mapleton Township; <br />response from Glenn Ellingsberg, Jail Administrator, concerning grievance letters from <br />two female inmates; <br />North Dakota Department of Health Division of Waste Management information on <br />proposed approval of a permit for an inert waste landfill at West Fargo. <br /> <br />18. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT MOTION, passed <br /> On motion by Mr. Wagner, seconded by Mr. Vanyo and all in favor, the <br /> meeting was adjourned at 4:45 PM. <br /> <br /> <br />
