From: Re: Date: Ms. Teubner currently fills position # B23 5040444 I (state #5537). She has accepted another position within the agency. According to county policy, this is an opportunity to review the job description and duties assigned to the former position. The position currently maintains a 4/5 (four-fifths) caseload and provides backup screening/scheduling for new appointments. Alice Swenson and the supervisory staff of the Economic Assistance Unit have reviewed the duties and have agreed that because of the increased demands of screening, additional screening and scheduling time is needed. In addition, there are a range of small programs that have been assigned throughout the unit that could be centralized in one position. These duties include Emergency Energy Assistance applications, HCBS eligibility for children, and Community of Care denials. All of these program tasks are less complicated than generic eligibility cases and, therefore, we are recommending that the position be re-classified down from a Senior Financial Worker, B23, to a Financial Worker, B22. State reclassification will also be requested of Human Resource Management Services moving the position from an Eligibility Worker I to an Eligibility Technician. There is no negative fiscal impact because the position was budgeted at the higher level. Proposed motion: I approve the reclassification of position # B23 5040444 1 (state #5537) from a Senior Financial Worker I (B23) to a Financial Worker (B22).
