Discussion: Mr. Bennett suggested the funds come from the end of year budget rather than jeopardizing any other items the Sheriff's Office may need to budget for next year. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 14. VOUCHERS, Approved MOTION, passed Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve Voucher No. 221,578 through Voucher No. 221,969. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 15. FARGO CASS PUBLIC HEALTH; COURT FACILITY IMPROVEMENT GRANT; STATE PENITENTIARY FACILITY STUDY, Committee reports Mrs. Johnson said a farewell party for Mary Kay Herrmann, Director of Fargo Cass Public Health, will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2007, from 1 :30 to 3:30 PM and commissioners are invited to attend. Mrs. Johnson received a list of five items from District Court to be considered in the next round of applications for a court facility improvement grant. She discussed each item and asked the board how to proceed with the request. Mr. Wagner said since building committee meetings are being held regularly to discuss a new addition to the courthouse, he suggested the county may want to wait until next year to submit an application. Mrs. Johnson said one of the items is for an additional door in the juvenile conference room, which she believes county buildings and grounds staff are able to complete for around $600. Mr. Wagner suggested a letter be sent to the court facility improvement committee. Commissioners were in agreement to wait until next year to submit an application. Mr. Wagner said correspondence was sent to commissioners regarding a study being conducted on the State Penitentiary and asking counties to send letters of support asking the study to incorporate the use of regional facilities. Commissioners chose not to send a letter as this issue does not relate to Cass County. 16. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to receive and file correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. - Information and request for comments from the North Dakota Department of Health on proposed permit to store hazardous waste at Safety-Kleen Systems Inc. of Fargo; - Information from the North Dakota Department of Health on a proposed permit for a solid waste facility at the Tharaldson Ethanol Plant near Casselton, North Dakota; - Copy of a letter from the North Dakota Department of Health to Russ Newman regarding an air pollution control permit for the Tharaldson Ethanol Plant. 17. ADJOURNMENT MOTION, passed On motion by Mr. Pawluk, seconded by Mr. Vanyo and all in favor, the meeting was adjourned at 5:40 PM.
