<br />RPR-:H!007 08:35 FROM:CITY OF HARWOOD <br /> <br />70129213543 <br /> <br />TO: 2982395 <br /> <br />March 27.2007 <br /> <br />Harwood City Council, <br /> <br />I would like to express my conCllrD8 about the need fOT a pedeatrianlbicycle crossing <br />on the interstate bridge in Harwood. <br />First. 88 a board member for Harwood,Baseball, we always have concerns about the <br />children being able to get' from their homes to the bnseball fields where practice is held. <br />Chi1dren 01) the side of the bridge that is holding practice can just jump on their bike or <br />walk to the area basebaU diamond, The children from the other side arc always left with <br />having to find rides, being unabJc to go, or crossing over a bridge that has no type of safe <br />pedestrian walk area. We rely on the parks on both sides ofthe interstate to host our <br />baseball needs. It would put all parents involved at ease to know that there is a safer way <br />for their children to get from one side of the interstate to the other. <br />Second, as ~ parent, my children have many friends on the other side and vise versa <br />that they would cqjoy spending more time with. With the poor visibility going up the <br />incline of the bridge and the higher speeds snowed, there is no safe way for my children <br />to cross, 1 knowtbose feelings are felt by families on both sides of the interstate. If a <br />chi ld wants to crOBS over the bridge, it usually takes two or three phone Clalls between <br />parents for that child to get from point A to point B. <br />We arc a growing conununity and we need to make sure we aTe looking out fOT our <br />families best interests at all times.
