First. as a board member for Harwood Baseball, we always have concerns about the children being able to get' from their homes to the baseball fields where practice is held. Children 01) the side of the bridge that is holding practice can just jump on their bike or walk to the area baseball diamond. The chlldren from the other side are IllwD)'fllcft with havin~ to find rides, being unable to go, or crossing over a bridge that has no type ofsare pedestrian walk area. We rely on the parks on both sides of the interstate to host our baseball needs. It would put all parents involved at ease to know that there is a safer way for their children to ge1 from one side ofthe interstate 10 the other. Second, asa parent, my children have many friends on the other side and vise versa that they would enjoy spending more time with. With the poor visibility going up the inc.1ino ofthe bridge and the higher speeds al1owed, there is no safe way for my children to cross. I know .those feelings are felt by families on both sides of the interstate. If a chi Id wants to cross over the bridge, it usually takes two or three phone calls between parents for that chil<J to get from point A to point B.
