2 <br /> <br />Weed Control Progress Report May 2, 2023 <br /> <br />Period from to April 11 to May 2, 2023 submitted by Stan Wolf <br /> <br />Monthly Report: <br /> <br />Weed Seed Free Forage JPA: The Weed Board has entered into a Joint <br />Powers Agreement with the North Dakota Department of Agriculture in 2009 for <br />inspecting Weed Seed Free Forage hay lands. The agreement is renewed <br />annually. The present agreement expires on April 30, 2023. The renewal <br />agreement arrived on Wednesday, April 12, after our last meeting. Mr. Wolf <br />contacted Chairman Wilcox regarding signing the JPA to continue the inspection <br />program. Mr. Wilcox did sign and the JPA was submitted to the NDDA on April <br />14, 2023 <br /> <br />Seasonal Field Aid: The summer field aid position has been posted in many <br />university student groups at NDSU, MSUM, Wahpeton State College, and <br />Minnesota State Community and Technical College with no resulting applications <br />turned in. <br /> <br />Pickup sale: Payment was received in the amount of $14,900.00 on April 20 for <br />the Dodge pickup that was sold on the Public Surplus online auction site. <br /> <br />Mr. Wolf has submitted pesticide application notices for the 2023 spraying <br />season to the ND Department of Health. The notices are required for pesticide <br />applications directly onto water. The targeted weeds are cattails, Purple <br />loosestrife, Spotted hemlock, and the water weeds in the swim beach at Brewer <br />Lake Campground. <br /> <br />Spray equipment is being prepared for the spray season. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Upcoming Events: <br /> <br />NDWCA Sprayer School June 1, Carrington <br />NDWCA board meeting June 27, Bismarck
