2 <br /> <br />Weed Control Progress Report September 8, 2022 <br /> <br />Period from August 8, to Sept 8, 2022 submitted by Stan Wolf <br /> <br /> <br />Monthly Report: <br /> <br /> <br />Contractor Spraying: Walker’s Lawncare continues to spray when conditions <br />allow. J and J spraying will start in September. Spotted hemlock was <br />also found in the Rush River near Amenia. Scouting upstream of the Amenia <br />locations we did find one location east of Absaraka. Cass County Extension sent <br />out an Ag Alert highlighting Spotted hemlock and the Cass The Cass County <br />Reporter did run an article in the August 24 edition, describing the extent of the <br />infestations and description of the plants in the county. <br /> <br />The Clay County Ag Inspector responsible for noxious weeds stated that they <br />have been finding Spotted hemlock for three years. Clay County has received a <br />grant from the Minnesota Department of Ag to control S hemlock in their drains <br />and streams. <br /> <br />We have not received any calls from road maintainer operators or township <br />supervisors reporting locations of Spotted hemlock. <br /> <br />Palmer amaranth: We have scouted for Palmer amaranth in Grandin and found <br />several suspect plants. All suspects were pulled and discarded properly. We <br />have not received any calls from the public regarding suspect Palmer plants. <br />
