Last year I received a grant to accomplish this project. I
worked with a committee representative of both Cass County and the City of Fargo to
complete the plan. Two NDSU graduate students provided staff assistance to the
project. Over the next few weeks each city within Cass County will take action at their
commission meetings to approve this plan.

The updated Cass County approved plan will allow Cass County to apply for mitigation
funds during the following five years. After adoption, the plan will be forwarded to ND
DES for transmittal to FEMA.

Legal notice has been published for the first public hearing of the updated plan on
August 20th at the Cass County commission meeting. A second hearing and adoption is
planned for the commission meeting on September 4th.

Sincerely,

~

Dave Rogness

Enc: 2007 updated Cass County Multi-Hazard, Multi-Jurisdictional Mitigation Plan-\l;.
~ tlVili\Ovnk ~ rwiew \'11 Comm; Ss.;on OtP;ce.
