<br />22. Escape: In case any such inmate shall escape from custody ofthe Jail, CASS will use <br />all reasonable means to recapture the inmate. The escape shall be reported immediately to <br />CLAY. CASS shall have the primary responsibility for and authority to direct the pursuit and <br />retaking and prosecution of inmates within its own territory and any costs in connection <br />therewith shall be chargeable to and borne by CASSo <br />23. Death of an Inmate: In the event of the death of an inmate from CLAY, the medical <br />examiner, coroner, or other official having the duties of such an office in CLAY County shall be <br />notified in addition to the medical examiner of CASS County. CLAY shall receive copies of any <br />records made for or in connection with such notification. <br />CLAY's medical examiner shall have the option to participate in any autopsy performed <br />by CASS, or to do its own autopsy. <br />CASS shall immediately notify CLAY ofthe death of an inmate, furnish information as <br />requested, and follow the instructions of CLAY with regard to the disposition of the body. <br />CASS shall send a certified copy of the death certificate to CLAY. A copy of the autopsy <br />report, if any, shall be sent to CLAY. <br />24. Photography and Publicity: Requests for interviews and information, other than the <br />information which is typically released under the Free Press Guidelines, regarding CLAY <br />inmates housed at JAIL shall be the exclusive decision of the Buyer County Sheriff and any such <br />requests shall be directed to the Buyer. Provider County Sheriff may photograph Buyer inmates <br />as a means of identification for official use only. This does not include visitors to the JAIL. <br />25. Non-Discrimination: In connection with the performance of work under this <br />Agreement, CASS agrees not to discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment <br />because of age, race, religion, color, handicap, sex, physical condition, developmental disability <br />as defined in Section 51.01(5) Stats., sex orientation or national origin. This provision shall <br />include, but not be limited to, the following: employment, upgrading, demotion or transfer; <br />recruitment or recruitment advertising; lay-off or termination; rates of payor other forms of <br />compensation; and selection for training, including apprenticeship. CASS further agrees to take <br />affirmative action to ensure equal employment opportunities. CASS agrees to post in <br />conspicuous places, available for employees and applicants for employment, notices setting forth <br />the provisions ofthe non-discrimination clause. <br /> <br />Page 7 of 9 <br />
