<br /> Policy Number: Number of Pages: <br />CASS COUNTY JAIL <br />POLICIES AND PROCEDURES <br />Chapter: <br />COURTHOUSE SECURITY OPERATIONS <br />Subject: Effective Date: <br />OTHER LAW ENFORECMENT OFFICERS <br /> <br />DEFINITION: <br /> <br />LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS FROM OTHER JURISDICTIONS <br /> <br />All State, County or City police officers that are reporting for a court proceeding must <br />secure their weapons at the security desk. This applies to active and retired officers, with <br />the following exceptions. <br /> <br />1. Officers with a prisoner (s) in custody <br /> <br />2. When responding to a bomb threat or other official request for service. <br /> <br />3. A gun lock box is located at the Security Post at the Courthouse and Annex for <br />officers to secure their weapons. <br /> <br />4. If all gun boxes are full, the officer will be instructed to go to the Sheriff s Office <br />and secure their weapon in the lock box located in the library. <br /> <br />5. Officers not in a courtroom will be allowed to carry their firearm. <br />
