As you know, the program has a goal of bringing every one of our local World War II veterans, who are able to travel, to Washington, D.C. to see first hand the memorial that after far too long was finally built in their honor to commemorate the gift of freedom that the greatest generation bestowed upon this country. The high quality equipment that you have donated will facilitate that goal, and our veterans who use it will do so with pride. The first of our three trips produced some poignant moments-literally the type that put a lump in your throat and a memory in your heart. I expect the next trips will do the same and hope that we can share some of those with you. It is exceptionally noteworthy that you, sir, have reached beyond your local community to another one far from your own home area. This is a perfect example of the unselfish patriotism that our Honor Flight recognizes, and we are proud to count you as one of us all, standing for one nation as one community.
