Parking facilities shall not be permitted within ten (10) feet of a side or rear property line <br />unless formal arrangements, satisfactory to the Planning Commission, have been made for <br />the establishment of a common parking facility. <br />5. Off-street parking areas shall be oriented to and within a reasonable walking distance of the <br />buildings they are designed to serve according to the following standards: <br />a. For commercial and industrial developments, the farthest space in a lot shall be a <br />maximum of one thousand (1,000) feet for employee parking; five hundred (500) to <br />eight hundred (800) feet for customers. <br />b. For single-family or two-family structures, off-street parking shall be provided <br />behind the street right-of-way line and may be attached or separate garage(s), <br />carport(s), or driveway(s). <br />c. For multi-family structures of more than two units, off- street parking shall be <br />located within two hundred (200) feet of the structure. <br />6. Each angled off-street parking space shall measure ten (10) feet in width by eighteen (18) <br />feet in length, smaller compact parking space stalls may be considered. Parking spaces for <br />the physically handicapped shall be fifteen (15) feet wide, including a three (3) foot wide <br />painted cross hatch. Parallel parking spaces shall measure eight (8) feet wide and a <br />minimum of twenty-three (23) feet long. Off-street parking involving the use of semi-tractor <br />trailer combinations or other vehicles in excess of twenty five (25) feet in length shall <br />provide minimum parking space measuring twelve (12) feet by fifty four (54) feet. <br />7. Where sidewalks occur in parking areas, parked vehicles shall not overhang or extend over <br />the sidewalk unless an additional two (2) feet of width of the sidewalk is provided in order <br />to accommodate such overhang. <br />9. Not less than a four (4) foot radius of curvature shall be permitted for horizontal curves in <br />parking areas. <br />10. All dead end parking lots shall be designed to provide, when necessary, sufficient back-up <br />area for all end stalls. <br />11. Painted lines, arrows and dividers shall be provided and maintained to control parking and <br />when necessary to direct vehicular circulation. <br />
