Installation would begin upon delivery and would be completed by the end of July 2008. 54 Color Video Cameras Five Rural Schools: Mapleton Public School; Maple Valley Public Schools ( wer City, Buffalo and Oriska); and Page Elementary have no video security camera syst m. The new camera system is a web based technology and will allow for remote obse ation of the school 2417. The Cass County Sheriffs Office and the schools will have a instantaneous capability of observing incidents at each partnering. Total for Video Cameras: $47,088 28 Color Video Cameras Three Rural Schools: Northern Cass; Kindred and Central Cass have existing ideo camera systems but have many problem areas not covered and this project wi! allow for the installation of those necessary cameras. This will enhance their security a d provide additional assistance to the Cass County Sheriff s Office when responding to r investigating criminal activity or complaints on school grounds. Total for Video Cameras: $24,416 11 Diflital Video Recorders - M u/tivlex Color HD Each Partnering School is in need of a Digital Video Recorder to control the ideo security camera system and provide a temporary recording of captured activit es including criminal elements preying on our schools. Three of the partnering s hools will require only one DVR, while the other four will require two DVRs per school to handle the number of video cameras in the school. Total for Digital Video Recorders: $47,025 Intercom Svstem The project will also install two intercom systems in the two rural schools tha have no means to warn or advise staff and students of serious incidents occurring with n their schools. This is extremely critical when considering school violence that has ccurred in other areas and where mitigating factors contributed to a lower victim count. Total for Intercom Systems: $13,247 Card Reader Access Securitv Svstem Northern Cass is not located in a community and stands alone in rural Cass C unty. This project will add an access control system to restrict public access to their scho I and provide secure access by their staff. This will provide a barrier to anyone desi ing to gain access to this school and provide time for responding deputies to arrive.
