<br />Commission Minutes-June 18, 2007 3218 <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Pawluk moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to adjourn the County Board <br />of Tax Equalization for 2007. Motion carried. <br /> <br />10. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve Voucher No. <br />218,040 through Voucher No. 218,516. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />11. MEETING UPDATES; COURTHOUSE CARPET PROJECT; JAIL ADDITION; SMOKING <br />CESSATION PROGRAM; DEVILS LAKE TOUR; FLOODING, Committee reports <br />Commissioners and staff reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks, <br />as well as upcoming meetings. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said the carpet project in the Clerk of Court Office and District Court judges' <br />offices is completed and is in the clean-up phase. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said the new addition at the Cass County Jail is in the final stages and is near <br />completion. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson was contacted by Fargo Cass Public Health about a grant-funded smoking <br />cessation program. She said only four county employees expressed interest; however, the <br />City of Fargo has enough employee participation to offer the program. <br /> <br />Mr. Pawluk participated in the tour of Devils Lake last week. He said the State Water <br />Commission needs to establish a control outlet to handle Stump Lake flows into the Tolna <br />Coulee, which will then spill into the Sheyenne River. <br /> <br />Mr. Pawluk said significant flooding is occurring in the rural areas of Cass County and he <br />anticipates significant crop losses as a result. <br /> <br />12. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />letter from North Dakota Department of Transportation regarding applications for the <br />Highway Safety Improvement Program (a copy was sent to the county engineer); <br />letter from North Dakota Department of Transportation requesting flood damage <br />estimates (copies were referred to the county engineer and emergency manager); <br />letter from the North Dakota Department of Transportation requesting comments on <br />any environmental concerns with overlay and resurfacing project on ramps and <br />crossroads at Argusville, Harwood and Cass County 20 interchanges (copy referred <br />to county engineer). <br />
