The County ofCass and the City of Fargo must agree to the <br />sharing of these funds as both of our entities are considered disparate jurisdictions under federal <br />guidelines. Our office is asking that you agree to the sharing of these funds and in doing so, will enter into <br />an lnterlocal Agreement which is attached. <br /> <br />This grant does not require a local match and the Cass County Sheriffs Office proposes to use $14,280.00 <br />of the new 2007 Byrne grant funds to acquire a narcotic trained canine with the balance of $70,429.00 <br />going to the Fargo Police Department for equipment and staff time. <br /> <br />I would ask that the Grant Application and lnterlocal Agreement be placed on your regular agenda for <br />June 18, 2007 to give the public an opportunity to comment on the grant request per federal guidelines. <br /> <br />Sample Motions: <br /> <br />Move to approve the electronic application for the 2007 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) on <br />behalf of Cass County and the City of Fargo.
