Commission Minutes-June 4,2007 3211 Mr. Klein said Ron Odegaard, representative for Oak Street Apartments located at 2322 Meadow Ridge Parkway, West Fargo, has issues with the valuation on the property. Mr. Odegaard is not at the meeting today, but Mr. Klein will provide a recommendation at the next equalization meeting. Mr. Klein said Stacy Hoiberg owns three commercial properties in West Fargo and has issues with the valuations on the properties. Mr. Hoiberg is not at the meeting today, but Mr. Klein will provide a recommendation at the next equalization meeting. Dave Lampl addressed the board at this time. He lives at 404 10th Avenue West in Chateau Cheyenne Mobile Home Park. He is concerned with the value on his mobile home. Lynn Utke addressed the board at this time. He owns agricultural land in Highland Township, located behind the Maple River Dam. He discussed the exchange of land for easement right-of-way that occurred with the water resource district when the dam was constructed two years ago. He said much of his land has standing water as a result of the dam and he is asking for a 50% reduction in taxes. Mr. Vanyo left the meeting at this time. Gary Geske, Highland Township Assessor, addressed the board at this time. He said agricultural productivity will be affected in the township because of standing water behind the Maple River Dam. He feels Mr. Utke needs to be compensated for the inundated land; however, the township will lose a large portion of real estate taxes because of inundated land created by the dam and he asked the board to consider the affect to the entire township. MOTION, passed Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded that the County Board of Tax Equalization recess until June 18, 2007. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 10. VOUCHERS, Approved MOTION, passed Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded to approve Voucher No. 217,754 through Voucher No. 218,039. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 11. MEETING UPDATES; DEVILS LAKE TOUR; JOINT DISPATCH GRANT; COURTHOUSE CARPET PROJECT, Committee reports Commissioners and staff reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks, as well as upcoming meetings. Mrs. Johnson said a tour of Devils Lake is scheduled for Thursday, June 14th. Ramsey County Commissioner Joe Belford has arranged the tour and will attend along with local government officials. Mrs. Johnson said members of the joint dispatch center will be applying for a $4 million grant to purchase a new CAD-RMS system.
