<br />Commission Minutes-June 4,2007 3211 <br /> <br />Mr. Klein said Ron Odegaard, representative for Oak Street Apartments located at 2322 <br />Meadow Ridge Parkway, West Fargo, has issues with the valuation on the property. Mr. <br />Odegaard is not at the meeting today, but Mr. Klein will provide a recommendation at the <br />next equalization meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Klein said Stacy Hoiberg owns three commercial properties in West Fargo and has <br />issues with the valuations on the properties. Mr. Hoiberg is not at the meeting today, but <br />Mr. Klein will provide a recommendation at the next equalization meeting. <br /> <br />Dave Lampl addressed the board at this time. He lives at 404 10th Avenue West in Chateau <br />Cheyenne Mobile Home Park. He is concerned with the value on his mobile home. <br /> <br />Lynn Utke addressed the board at this time. He owns agricultural land in Highland <br />Township, located behind the Maple River Dam. He discussed the exchange of land for <br />easement right-of-way that occurred with the water resource district when the dam was <br />constructed two years ago. He said much of his land has standing water as a result of the <br />dam and he is asking for a 50% reduction in taxes. <br /> <br />Mr. Vanyo left the meeting at this time. <br /> <br />Gary Geske, Highland Township Assessor, addressed the board at this time. He said <br />agricultural productivity will be affected in the township because of standing water behind <br />the Maple River Dam. He feels Mr. Utke needs to be compensated for the inundated land; <br />however, the township will lose a large portion of real estate taxes because of inundated <br />land created by the dam and he asked the board to consider the affect to the entire <br />township. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded that the County Board of <br />Tax Equalization recess until June 18, 2007. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />10. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Pawluk seconded to approve Voucher No. <br />217,754 through Voucher No. 218,039. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />11. MEETING UPDATES; DEVILS LAKE TOUR; JOINT DISPATCH GRANT; COURTHOUSE <br />CARPET PROJECT, Committee reports <br />Commissioners and staff reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks, <br />as well as upcoming meetings. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said a tour of Devils Lake is scheduled for Thursday, June 14th. Ramsey <br />County Commissioner Joe Belford has arranged the tour and will attend along with local <br />government officials. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said members of the joint dispatch center will be applying for a $4 million <br />grant to purchase a new CAD-RMS system. <br />
