Ormand RECEIVED MAY 15 2001: To: From: Re: Date: Cass County Commission Kathy Hogan Budget Adjustment May 15, 2007 CASS COUNTY COMMISSION In follow-up to the Social Service Board meeting, I am requesting a budget adjustment of $58,000. There is a $5,000 increase from the social service board meeting which resulted from the second review of the specific salaries. Revenues will come either from increased reimbursements as a result of the legislative session or from the social service operating reserve fund. The adjustments proposed for July 1 will only impact the 84 social service employees who are frozen below the appropriate county salary and step. Some employees will receive a partial adjustment to be placed in the appropriate county step. Other employees will receive the full allowable state scale adjustment but will still be below their individual appropriate county step. There will still be 69 employees who will be below their appropriate county step in July. NO SOCIAL SERVICE EMPLOYEE will receive a salary adjustment above their appropriate county step. This adjustment recognizes that the state salary scale has been seriously below the market for many years. Attached is the memo from the social service board meeting and the proposed state salary scale. SUGGESTED MOTION: Move to approve a budget adjustment of $58,000 for implementation of the new state salary scale for social service employees, effective July 1, 2007.
