2 <br /> <br />Weed Control Progress Report October 4, 2021 <br /> <br />Period from Sept 13 to October 4, 2021 submitted by Stan Wolf <br /> <br />New Business: <br /> <br />HVAC Bid: Two contractors submitted bids to update the heating and air- <br />conditioning for the weed control office. Bids from both contractors have been <br />received and are as follows: <br /> <br />Laney’s – Proposed to install electric air to air heat pump with two room units for <br />heat and air conditioning. $9,032.00 <br /> <br />BDT Mechanical, LLC – Proposed to install 95% efficient natural gas furnace, air <br />conditioning unit and air ducting. $16,670.00 <br /> <br />Action: Discussion and possible acceptance of a bid. <br /> <br />Action: Move to adjust budget line item for HVAC bid. <br /> <br /> <br />Palmer amaranth Update: Palmer amaranth has been identified in three <br />counties in 2021, Grant, Sioux, and Cass. The infestation in Cass County was <br />contained to an area surrounding a sunflower processing plant. The Grant and <br />Sioux County infestations were the result of feeding sunflower screenings <br />contaminated with Palmer seeds. Several hundred acres are infested on several <br />farm feedlot, pasture, and cropland areas. <br /> <br /> <br />Monthly Report: <br /> <br /> <br />Contractor spraying: Great progress has been made by both contractors in <br />spraying county and township road ditches. The weather has been very <br />cooperative. Both contractors were spraying over the weekend. Walker’s <br />Lawncare is working with one to two trucks finishing up on township roads. J&J <br />Spraying has used up to three trucks. I will be contacting the <br />contractors to determine how much additional spraying is expected. <br />
