2 <br /> <br />Weed Control Progress Report December 6, 2021 <br /> <br />Period from November 2 to December 6, 2021 submitted by Stan Wolf <br /> <br />New Business: <br /> <br />Election of Officers for 2022: The chair and vice chair officers are elected for a <br />one-year term; election of officers is required at the start of the year. <br /> <br />Action: Hold election of officers for the 2022 term. <br /> <br /> <br />2022 Meeting Schedule: Enclosed is a draft meeting schedule for 2022. <br />Please review to see if there are any conflicts with your schedules. <br /> <br />Proposed Motion: Approve 2022 meeting schedule. <br /> <br /> <br />2022 Spray Contracts: The right-of-way spray contracts have expired and <br />contractors need to be selected for the 2022 and 2023 weed control seasons. <br />Regarding potential herbicide shortages and unknown chemical pricing, do we <br />need to modify our past bid structure based on a set $/acre payment rate? <br /> <br />Discussion on upcoming spray contract pricing structure. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Monthly Report: <br /> <br />WBI Energy Open House: WBI Energy is planning on building a 12-inch natural <br />gas transmission line from the Mapleton Compressor Station near Mapleton to <br />Wahpeton with a delivery station near Kindred. WBI Energy had an open house <br />on November 16 in Kindred. Mr. Wolf attended to gather information regarding <br />the proposed pipeline route and inquire with their Environmental Specialists what <br />their procedure is regarding weed control along the route. They will be providing <br />their weed control protocol and information to the Weed Control Office. <br /> <br />Noxious Weed Task Force: The ND Ag Commissioner, Doug Goehring, is <br />developing a Noxious Weed Task Force to determine ways to best manage and <br />control noxious weeds throughout the state. The members are to include county <br />weed officers, North Dakota State University research and Extension officials, <br />members from commodity groups, agriculture associations, grain elevators, and <br />agronomists. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
