Personnel: <br />Cass County Human Service Zone <br />OPERATING RE PORT <br />N ovember 202 1 <br />Recruitment is at various stages for the following positions: <br />• Eligibility Worker I (2 positions open) <br />o Posting will close December 6, 2021 . <br />• Family Service Specialist Ill -Case Management Socia l (2 positions) <br />o Posting will close December 8, 2021 . <br />• Family Service Specialist Il l -Chi ld Protection <br />o Posting closed November 21, 202 1. Interviews are underway for t his position. <br />Heather Co llins will join the agency on January 3, 2022 as t he new Executive Staff Officer <br />(formerly Administrative Service Ma nager position). <br />Family Services: <br />October we were ab le to recognize staff for years of service for the first time! Raelyn Soltis, 15 <br />years, Lyndsey Tungset h, Ashley Lill, and Megan Dahl, 3 years of service. <br />Kim Jaco bson worked with the state and our IT department to order Surfaces and the <br />equipment that accompan ies it so that employees have the abil ity to actively participate in <br />virtual t ra inings an d meetings. This wi ll also all ow employees more flexibil ity to be able to work <br />in the field when assisting families. <br />Our community partner, YouthWorks, has made some policy changes whic h may impact how <br />other zones are able to access the YouthWorks Shelter. The other zones are relying on our staff <br />to be available to case manage the children in the shelter in Fa rgo. <br />October is the beginning of the Christmas Wish Li st that Lyndsey Tungseth coordinates for our <br />division. Area busin esses contact our agency looking for chi ldren or families to help brighten <br />the ho lidays by donating prese nts. The children and families that receive the donations are t he <br />children and families that we work with through the year. <br />In October there was a significant increase in the number of child protection reports that were <br />assigned. Typically, in September there is a rise due to school resuming, however this year we <br />did not see the increase until October. The number of children that were placed into protective <br />custody was down from the previous two months. <br />Kim Jacobson assisted in developing (2) 0.5 FTE trainer positions withi n our division. These <br />positions are not new positions, rather t hey are reassigning job responsibi lities with the existi ng <br />positions within the Chi ld Protection and Case Management units. The goal of reass igning job <br />responsibilities to have trainers is to support new staff in their onboarding process, to have <br />standardized consistent training across the division for new and existing staff, wh ich wi ll build <br />competency/confidence for staff to provide a high level of service to children and families. <br />Economic Assistance: <br />Rebecca Askins joined t he Division on November 1, 2021, upon bei ng selected to fill the <br />Supervisory position vacated by Kayia English.
