2 <br /> <br />Weed Control Progress Report Sept 7, 2021 <br /> <br />Period from August 2 to Sept 7, 2021 submitted by Stan Wolf <br /> <br />New Business: <br /> <br />HVAC Bid: Two contractors submitted bids to update the heating and air- <br />conditioning for the weed control office. <br /> <br />Action: Discussion and possible acceptance of a bid. <br /> <br />DuraCor and Milestone Offer: Corteva has announced a special offer on <br />DuraCor and Milestone herbicides. Both herbicides will be discounted with a <br />minimum volume order. Both herbicides are general use (non-restricted) <br />herbicides. The discount price is not offered through Ag retailers/dealers. <br /> <br /> Container Min <br /> Herbicide Discount Size $/Gal Order Total <br /> <br /> DuraCor 3% 1 Gal $80.51 60 $4,830.60 <br /> Milestone 5% Quart <br /> 2.5 gal $251.00 25 $6,275.00 <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion: Should the Weed Board purchase the herbicides and offer for sale <br />to county landowners. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Monthly Report: <br /> <br />2022 Proposed Budget: The Proposed 2021 Weed Control Budget was <br />presented to the County Commission on August 21. The Commission approved <br />the budget as presented and accepted the recommendation of lowering the mill <br />levy to 1.2 mills. Commissioner Scherling commended the Weed Board’s <br />dedication and longevity of service the board members are exhibiting. <br /> <br />Contractor spraying: Walker’s Lawncare has continued to spray the northern <br />portion of the county when weather conditions allow. J & J Spraying will start <br />spraying the southern section in September as they have done in past years. To <br />date 1961 acres have been sprayed costing $75,988.00. The total acres sprayed <br />to date is similar to last summer’s acreage at this time. <br />
