36 <br /> <br />habitats and to maintain hydrologic processes and water quality. Following any <br />disturbance, the impacted area shall be restored. <br />3. Bike paths, walking trails, or other multi-use paths. <br />b) No additional fill shall be allowed, except fill required to plant new trees or vegetation <br />pursuant to the Vegetation Standards of this Ordinance <br />c) No grading shall be allowed, except grading for bank restoration in areas experiencing <br />bank slumping. <br />d) No excavating shall be allowed, except excavating required to plant new trees or <br />vegetation pursuant to the Vegetation Standards of this Ordinance. <br />e) On-site septic systems and drain fields shall not be permitted. <br />f) Irrigation systems shall not be permitted. <br />g) Vegetation Standards. Alterations of vegetation and topography shall prevent erosion <br />into public waters, fix nutrients, preserve watercourse natural aesthetics, preserve historic <br />values, prevent bank slumping and protect fish and wildlife habitat. Removal or alterations <br />of vegetation is allowed according to the following standards: <br />1. Intensive vegetation clearing shall not be allowed. <br />2. Vegetation previously disturbed or disturbed during the construction of the <br />development or dwellings shall provide native riparian vegetation cover. <br />3. Replacement of native riparian vegetation with non-native species shall not be <br />allowed. <br />4. Limited clearing of trees and shrubs and cutting, pruning and trimming of trees to <br />accommodate the placement of stairways and landings, access paths and watercraft <br />access areas, as well as providing a view to the watercourse from the principal <br />dwelling unit or dwelling site, provided that: <br />a. The removal of vegetation shall be limited to a width less than six (6) feet to <br />provide the placement of a stairway or path access to watercourse for residential <br />lots. The removal of vegetation shall be limited to a width less than ten (10) feet to <br />provide the placement of a stairway or path to provide access to watercourse for <br />commercial properties or public open-space recreational properties. <br />b. The removal of vegetation shall be limited to a width less than six (6) feet for <br />facilities such as ramps, lifts or mobility paths for physically challenged to achieve <br />watercourse access on residential lots. The removal of vegetation shall be limited to <br />a width less than ten (10) feet for facilities such as ramps, lifts or mobility paths for <br />physically handicapped persons to achieve watercourse access for commercial <br />properties or public open-space recreational properties. <br />c. The removal of vegetation shall be limited to an area less than forty-nine (49) <br />square feet for stairway and life landings on residential lots. The removal of <br />vegetation shall be limited to eighty-one (81) square feet for landings used for <br />commercial properties or public open-space recreational properties.
