<br />NDIRF BOARD NOMINEE PROFILE <br />2007 <br /> <br />"CITIES" CATEGORY <br /> <br />SHAWN KESSEL is the City Coordinator for the City of Wahpeton, North Dakota <br />and is the immediate past president of the North Dakota League of Cities. He is <br />active in numerous organizations including the Twin Town Leadership Program <br />(co-founded), the North Dakota State College of Science President's Advisory <br />Council, the International City/County Management Association and the <br />Wahpeton-Breckenridge Economic Development Commission. Mr. Kessel <br />currently serves on the NDIRF Board of Directors representing the category of <br />"Cities" and also serves on the NDIRF Finance Committee. <br /> <br />"COUNTIES" CATEGORY <br /> <br />RICHARD ABERLE has been a LaMoure County Commissioner for over 8 years <br />and is a member of the Board of Directors of the North Dakota Association of <br />Counties. Following a career in public education, the NO National Guard and <br />farming, Mr. Aberle is active in promoting alternative energy development and <br />serves on numerous boards including the NO Social Service Board (President- <br />elect), South Central Dakota Regional Council and Region VI Community Action. <br />Mr. Aberle currently serves on the NDIRF Board of Directors representing the <br />category of "Counties" and also serves on the NDIRF Finance Committee. <br /> <br />MATT ERHARDT has served as a Morton County Commissioner for over 12 <br />years and is retired from a career in education and the ND State Highway Patrol. <br />He is experienced with all facets of Morton County government, including the <br />county fair portfolio, and has served on numerous other boards and commissions <br />including the University of Mary, Metropolitan Planning Organization (current <br />chairman), Senior Financing Board, the Upper Missouri 5 County Interior Board, <br />State Fair Board Committee and the Historical Society. Weather modification <br />and rural water issues are also areas in which Mr. Erhardt has been active. <br />
