M E M O TO: Cass County Commissioners FROM: Robert W. Wilson DATE: February 10, 2021 SUBJECT: COVID-19 Update I do not have a specific COVID-19 related update for this Board meeting. I have not scheduled an update from Fargo Cass Public Health. I will plan to schedule semi-regular briefings moving forward, but not every meeting unless that is requested. The finances of CARES Act funding has not changed substantially in the past two weeks. On Thursday, February 18th general contractor bids will be opened for the Jail Intake Expansion project. This will be a key indication if our cost estimates have been accurate and give us a better picture of the ultimate cost of the project. We are hopeful for and expect a favorable bidding climate. Without other urgent issues that need review, this may be an opportunity to discuss the current COVID-19 related restrictions within Cass County facilities. I am interested in Board feedback about how long we may wish to continue the following practices: • County facilities ‘open by appointment only’ to the public. • Employee and visitor mask policies. • The current virtual meeting process. I am not suggesting a change at this time, but this is a good opportunity to have the conversation. Perhaps we would find it useful to establish criteria or timeframes when we want to consider revising some of the current practices. County Administrator Robert W.
