Explain how this project relates to surface transportation <br /> <br />The project provides a bicycle and pedestrian connection between residential, retail, recreational. school and government <br />facilities in the City of Mapleton. Cass County Highway 11 currently runs from 1-94 through the City of Mapleton. Cass <br />11 serves as a significant commuter and truck route. There are no separated side paths through the majority of the <br />project area. The relatively narrow highway shoulders discourage cyclists or pedestrians. The path is bordered by a <br />new residential subdivision, existing homes, a restaurant, a golf course, a convenience store, and the Mapleton City Hail <br />and Community Center. The school is approximately 1 block away from the path. <br /> <br />11 Who will own this property when the project is completed? <br />C3SS County Government. I <br /> <br />! <br />,.,-~ <br />12.
