<br />Interpretation of David's Letter - by Michael Montplaisir, County Auditor <br /> <br />Note - not all of the words were decipherable so in some cases I had to guess at the words but I think I got the <br />essence of what David is "witing about. You may remember that we took his parents house in Casselton a <br />couple of years ago and then sold it back to them on a contract for deeds. A couple of the requirements of the <br />contract for deed were to keep in force insurance on the house and to pay the property taxes. Taxes are owing <br />for the 2004 and 2005 tax years. David has had a long standing problem with charging interest and penalty on <br />unpaid taxes. <br /> <br />Dear Cass County Commissioners and our penalizing and over taxing and charging and assessing county <br />auditor. <br /> <br />Please hereby let it be know I, Mr. David Alan Habiger of Amenia ND and Casselton ND. A poor hard <br />working man whom along with the rest of the citizens of Cass County whom such as I are grossly overtaxed and <br />whom are held at bay hostage so to say penalized over taxed charged unbelievably outrageous interest on our <br />property taxes we're punished for being poor people of simple means. <br /> <br />Enough said, first of all I want to appear before the Cass County Commission to speak out against the <br />outrageous taxes you are charging on my Dad's property and house in Cassel ton; and the outrageous and <br />burdensome (?) a travesty of injustice the interest and penalty you're charged on Dads taxes and 2004AD and <br />2005AD alone the home is over assessed and taxed. Needs to be re adjusted and you have no statutory right to <br />charge such outrageous interest & penalty. Mon & Dad, thought all the taxes were combined were so <br />religiously made. We could go to the highest mountain and tell the injustice to the world. <br /> <br />Also my property on my farm in Amenia Section 19 of Amenia Township is grossly over taxed and assessed. <br />Also the interest & penalty you are charged me there is an outrage. <br /> <br />Please put my name on the Cass County agenda at the next meeting. <br /> <br />Sincerely Yours, God Speed, Over taxed and penalized in Cass County <br /> <br />RECEIVED <br />SEP 18 20061 <br /> <br />David A Habiger <br /> <br />C'ASS COUNTY COMMISSION <br />
