Head .;l Sharon Query, Extension Agent/Parenting Resources Coordinator RE: 2006 Budget Adjustment for Parenting Education Program The purpose of this request is to approve a budget adjustment for 2006 1(J[ the Parenting Resource Center of the Cass County Extension Service. The sources of funds are I) a contract with the Children & Family Services Division, Child Protection Program of the North Dakota Dept of Human Services (DIlS) and 2) United \Vay of Cass Clay Success by Age 6 initiative that will fund the Countdown to Kindergarten parenting education program. The DHS contract is the continuation of a long standing financial partnership that follows their fiscal year ofJuly 1- June 30. Our office informed the Commission of the United Way proposal back in February when it was submitted to that agency for consideration. Additionally, the memorandum of understanding between Cass County and United Way was reviewed and approved by the Commission on June L 2006 and the DHS contract was signed by the Commission Chair on June 26. 2006. During the budgeting process we indicated that the budget amounts/categories lor the 2006 budget \\ould be submitted to the Auditor's office. The DHS grant agreement will provide $18.000 fl.)r July 1.2006- June 30, 2007. The United Way of Cass Clay contract is a multi-year project with a $55.272 budget tor July 15.2006 to July 14, 2007. $5.970 and $27.192 are being budgeted for the remainder of 20()6.
