University Drive, Fargo ND 58102 -- Collaborations & Interagency Agreements: Juvenile Court Successes -- Further Juvenile Justice Involvement: Of the 82 juveniles who completed the TRAIT class since it's inception in August 2001, only 4 juveniles have been referred to the court for a further theft or property crime after completing the TRAIT program, Challenges -- Limitations :8 - 5 youth programs necessitate being available on nights and week-end hours. -- Staffing: 1 FTE working with Youth programs -- Training: 3 staff trained in TRAIT Funding Issues -- Co-Payments: See fees in fund source section Goals Juvenile Communitv Service: * Offenders will have the opportunity to make amends with the community and hold offenders accountable for their crimes. *Communities will be involved with the process of helping offenders complete their community service * Establish and maintain a mentoring Community Service Program for Juvenile T.R.A.I.T. Theft Reduction and Accountabilitv In Thinking Program: * educate juveniles with the facts of shoplifting and point out the negative aspect that come along with it Drug Screening: * provide drug screening for specific types of drugs as directed by the courts.
