University Drive, Fargo ND <br />58102 <br />-- Collaborations & Interagency Agreements: Juvenile Court <br /> <br />Successes <br />-- Further Juvenile Justice Involvement: Of the 82 juveniles who completed the TRAIT class <br />since it's inception in August 2001, only 4 juveniles have been referred to the court for a further <br />theft or property crime after completing the TRAIT program, <br /> <br />Challenges <br />-- Limitations :8 - 5 youth programs necessitate being available on nights and week-end hours. <br />-- Staffing: 1 FTE working with Youth programs <br />-- Training: 3 staff trained in TRAIT <br /> <br />Funding Issues <br />-- Co-Payments: See fees in fund source section <br />Goals <br />Juvenile Communitv Service: <br />* Offenders will have the opportunity to make amends with the community and hold offenders <br />accountable for their crimes. <br />*Communities will be involved with the process of helping offenders complete their community <br />service <br />* Establish and maintain a mentoring Community Service Program for Juvenile <br /> <br />T.R.A.I.T. Theft Reduction and Accountabilitv In Thinking Program: <br />* educate juveniles with the facts of shoplifting and point out the negative aspect that come along <br />with it <br /> <br />Drug Screening: <br />* provide drug screening for specific types of drugs as directed by the courts. <br /> <br />Page 15 <br />
