Commission Minutes--October 1, 2003 2659 SPECIAL MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OCTOBER 1, 2003 MEETING TO ORDER Chairman Scott Wagner called the special meeting to order at 10:00 AM with a quorum of four members as follows: Robyn Sorum, Darrell Vanyo, Vern Bennett and Scott Wagner. John Meyer was absent. The meeting was held in the County Coordinator's Office, adjacent to the County Commission Room at the Courthouse. A notice of the meeting was sent in accordance with North Dakota's open meetings law. PERMIT FOR SPECIAL EVENT, Approved for Holiday Inn at Bonanzaville Mr. Wagner said the purpose of today's meeting is to consider a request for a permit, which was received yesterday, for the Holiday Inn of Fargo to cater a special event at Bonanzaville where alcoholic beverages will be sold between the hours of 7:00 PM until approximately 11:00 PM on October 2, 2003. This is normally a request that would be approved on the consent agenda of the commission's regular meeting, however, the next regular meeting will not be held until October 20, 2003. This event is scheduled for tomorrow evening. Mr. Wagner said he talked to the state's attorney, and it appeared holding a special meeting would be the best option for authorizing this permit on short notice. He asked Mr. Burdick to research how these permits might be handled administratively in the future. MOTION, passed Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve a special event permit for the Holiday Inn of Fargo at Bonanzaville, U.S.A. on October 2, 2003, between the hours of 7:00 PM and approximately 11:00 PM. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. ADJOURNMENT MOTION, passed On motion by Mr. Vanyo, seconded by Mrs. Sorum and all in favor, the meeting was adjourned at 10:04 AM.
