Cass County hzz been a~tjvely involved with. a GIS program, since 200:L The county uses the ESRI platform for their p~imary GIB tasks and currently has three Arc View licenses. These lic~ses are lltiljzed by experienced trained, staffto maoge county datasets and meet sonae of the spe¢ializ_~l department needs. The Highway Department possesses one AutoDesk Map license, which is primarily used to overlay aerials with CAD projects. The Cour~ty also has thirty eight licenses of a customized desktop GIS application developed with a consultant based on map objects, This softmare is used by staff in multiple departments to assist members of the public and for depaamental use, The auditors and tax equalization department use the application, on a daily basis to perform tasks such as parcel ~earohes, verify legal descriptions, addresses and taxa,ion distfic~:s. The I-Ii.ghway Department uses the application to view and maintain sign and bridge locations and county roads. The Water Resource District is able to view county drains and taxing districts. All departments are able to display black and white othtopbotos of the county as a backdrop for other data layers.
