<br />RADIO SYSTEMS COORDINATOR <br />Red River Regional Dispatch Center <br />Fargo, North Dakota <br /> <br />Salary Range: DOQ $40-60K <br /> <br />The Red River Regional Dispatch Center Board of Authority is seeking a full-time Radio <br />Systems Coordinator to assist in the completion of a state-of-the art, P25 compliant <br />digital VHF radio interoperability system for police, fire and EMS agencies in Cass <br />County, ND and Clay County, MN utilizing $8M in Homeland Security and COPS <br />Interoperable Communication & Technology grants. <br /> <br />Cass and Clay Counties have a combined population of 178,000 and cover 2,810 square <br />miles. Fargo-Moorhead are often ranked among the best places to live in national <br />surveys. The region offers a quality of life rich with cultural, social and recreational <br />resources, including a zoo, theaters, museums, shopping, sports activities such as <br />hockey, baseball and football. <br /> <br />The fully interoperable radio communications system upgrade is only one of several <br />joint ventures indicative of the progressive multiple jurisdictions' collaborations. <br /> <br />Essential Duties: Primary responsibility will be to successfully maintain the integrated <br />radio system configuration for the day to day operations of the multiple agencies. <br />Provide technical leadership in the development and implementation of new public <br />safety related systems or upgrades to existing systems. Research and evaluate public <br />safety technology trends which will benefit the consortium as well as the individual <br />police, fire and EMS agencies. Responsible for maintaining agency radio frequency <br />licenses. Create policies and procedures relating to radio interoperability issues; work <br />with established committees and user groups. <br /> <br />Minimum Oualifications: High school diploma/equivalent with five years experience <br />related to radio communications in a pUblic safety setting or an equivalent combination <br />of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the <br />job. <br /> <br />Desirable Oualifications: An associates degree, vocational training in a related field or a <br />BS in business administration, management, criminal justice or a directly related field. <br />Experience with radio system design to monitor system performance.
