These funds were administered by the State Attorney General's Office previously and help fund the positions and expenses of our local Cass County Drug Task Force and equipment for the Fargo Police Department. This grant does not require a local match, but these grant funds only pay a part of the salary and expenses incurred by each current participating office or agency. I have also included a Interlocal Agreement with the City of Fargo for sharing in these funds that I would ask the commission to approve. I would ask that this be placed on your regular agenda for March 6, 2006 to give the public an opportunity to comment on the grant request per federal guidelines. Sample Motion: Move to approve the electronic application for the 2006 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant on behalf of Cass County submitted by Glenn ElIingsberg, Sheriff's Office, and1d+authorize him to file subsequent electronic filings which may be required during the grant period.
