The contract is for $99,840 or up by about 1.5% over the 2005 costs--a very modest increase. For that cost we receive 1,560 hours of management services (3/4 of a full position), The manager assigned to Cass County is Terry Schmaltz, We started with this contract in 2003 after the association completed a technology audit in 2002. At the time the contract began, we had significant technology concerns from departments that were not addressed adequately, As this contract came up for renewal, I asked for feedback from department heads on how they viewed services received from the Information Technology Department. Some of their comments are listed below: Terry does a great job and the whole staff are always there when we need them. As far as I'm concerned the hours are adequate. - Charlotte Sandvik, County Treasurer I have had nothing but success in working with Terry. He's always been available to work on things when I need him, and, I believe he does a good job for personnel and buildings and grounds. - Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator I always find the IT deparlment and Terry accessible and responsive in working on my requests and advising me on issues.... - Dave Rogness, County Emergency Manager Overall we have been pleased with the quality and quantity of IT supporl staff. Terry is very approachable, I also like having the contract because it provides supporl time from Chad in Bismarck when we have linkage problems with the State. I think we do need more focus and assistance with the web site-,social services does not have the internal resources to make this happen. Maybe it doesn1 need to be Irs responsibility but I look at the City of Fargo web site and it seems much more dynamic. - Kathy Hogan, County Social Services Director I have been very satisfied with Terry's management of the IT Deparlment. He is professional and quite knowledgeable about computer and software issues. I have never had any problem in getting in touch with Terry so the hours appear to be adequate, Our jail mission is very dependent upon IT and the deparlment supporls our needs very well. .,. I know there are plans to update the web site and Terry has some good ideas on the intranet site but it is difficult for many of
