Joint meeting with city officials--September 15, 2003 2 <br /> <br />WeedNector Control <br />Ms. Biewer briefly discussed the county's weed control program. She said beginning this fall, <br />a new chemical, Plateau, will be used to help control leafy spurge. <br /> <br />She also discussed the county's vector control program. She said county-wide surveillance <br />was done by use of light traps to determine the numbers and species in all areas of the county. <br />Larval treatments were done in standing water and cities were given the option to contract with <br />the county for spraying. Goals for next year include obtaining aerial maps of the whole county, <br />mapping of breeding sites, and creating a permanent set of data to be used every year. She <br />stressed the need to continue the public education campaign. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />The meeting was adjourned about 8:50 PM.
