<br />Road Advisory Minutes-March 20, 2006 2 <br /> <br />4. FLOOD OUTLOOK, Discussion <br />Mr. Sieg distributed the spring flood and water resources outlook from the National Weather <br />Service. He also provided numbers from 2001 when flooding occurred and said the county <br />provided sandbags. The county has 165,000 sandbags on hand. <br /> <br />Dave Rogness, Emergency Manager, said Harwood is the area most at risk for flooding this <br />year. He said flooding is dependent on the rate of snowmelt and amount of precipitation <br />received. He feels there is a 50% chance of reaching 1997 flood levels. He said the county <br />needs to be ready to make a decision on what level of flood response they wish to take. Mr. <br />Pawluk stressed it is essential to have a plan in place for emergency situations. <br /> <br />5. OTHER BUSINESS <br />Mr. Pawluk said the county maintains many miles of highways that are within city limits. He <br />said the committee needs to decide whether to take these portions of roads off the county <br />system. He asked if this item could be scheduled for consideration at the next meeting. <br /> <br />6.
