<br />Commission Minutes--June 21, 1999 1999 <br /> <br />18. FLOOD UPDATE, Buy-out transaction: financial update: designation of applicant/agent <br />Irv Rustad, Lake Agassiz Regional Development Corporation, said he received a telephone call <br />from Garland Hagemeister, owner of the former Pat and Di Scherling home in Chrisan Glen <br />Subdivision of Stanley Township. He is trying to remove as much of the property as he can <br />without damaging the road and is waiting for a specific contractor to begin the work after July <br />151. Therefore, Mr. Hagemeister is requesting another time extension, according to Mr. Rustad. <br />The Board set a deadline at the last Commission meeting for removing the home by June 30th. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to extend the deadline to <br />July 15,1999, for Mr. Hagemeister to make a decision on moving his <br />flood buy-out home, which will allow time for the County Commission <br />to take any further action at the July 19, 1999, Board meeting. Birch <br />Burdick, State's Attorney, asked how Mr. Hagemeister will notify the <br />County Commission. <br /> <br />AMENDED MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to amend the motion to <br />include that Mr. Hagemeister notify the County of his intention by <br />corresponding with Irv Rustad. On roll call vote, the amended motion <br />carried unanimously. At the call for the question and upon roll call <br />vote, the main motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Rustad provided a hand-out for each Commissioner with updated financial information on <br />the flood program. <br /> <br />Keith Berndt, County Engineer, requested the signature of the Commission Chairperson <br />designating him as the applicant agent for Disaster Declaration Number - FEMA 1279-DR-ND. <br />All Commissioners were in agreement. <br /> <br />19. REGISTER OF DEEDS, Computer conversion uDdate <br />Deanna Kensrud, Register of Deeds, updated the Commissioners on progress being made <br />since her April 19th report on the backlog of returning recorded documents. She said the <br />department was able to attain the original goal of returning all documents recorded under the <br />old computer system by the end of May. Progress under the new system has gone slower than <br />anticipated, however, she said they are now returning recorded documents in four months, <br />instead of the previous six months, and she hopes to improve on that in the future. <br /> <br />20. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that Voucher No. <br />129,087 through No. 129,748 be approved. On roll call vote, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />21. COUNTY COMMISSION JULY 6TH MEETINGS, Canceled for lack of a auorum <br />MOTION, passed <br />Due to the 4th of July holiday and lack of a quorum, Mr. Meyer moved <br />and Mr. Koenig seconded to cancel the July 6, 1999, meetings of the <br />Cass County Board of Commissioners; and that the Chairperson be <br />
