<br />Commission Minutes--February 1, 1999 1936 <br /> <br />16. MEETING UPDATES; 76TH AVENUE SOUTH CORRIDOR STUDY; LEGISLATIVE FORUM; <br />TRAINING SEMINAR, Committee reports <br />Mr. Burdick apologized for missing the previous County Commission meeting, however, he and <br />some members of his staff were attending a conference in the Bismarck area. One of the <br />Assistant State's Attorneys attended a conference in Washington, D.C. last weekend at no cost <br />to the county, he said. He also reported that his office is looking at potential grant money for <br />a study of youth offenders and a youth drug court. <br /> <br />Mr. Koenig said he has received a number of letters concerning the 76th Avenue South bridge <br />corridor study. Other commissioners are receiving correspondence also. <br /> <br />Mr. Montplaisir attended the legislative forum last Saturday at the Fargo City Commission <br />Chambers with area legislators, and he said the next one will be February 13th. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said a training seminar is scheduled for February 10, 1999, on flood insurance <br />and flood mapping. She also updated Commissioners on the jail consultants' schedule and said <br />Dennis Kimme of Kimme & Associates is available to fly into Fargo this Saturday to help review <br />prospective jail sites. She will notify Commissioners and the media of the time. <br /> <br />Commissioners reported on various meetings they have attended in the past two weeks. At a <br />meeting of the Lake Agassiz Regional Council, Mrs. Quick said the corporation issue came up <br />again and their board voted to send a letter to the Attorney General's Office requesting <br />clarification of suggested changes. <br /> <br />17. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />letter from Advanced Engineering & Environmental Services, Inc. regarding review <br />of a proposed expansion project by Dakota Water Users, Inc. of Finley, ND; <br /> <br />North Dakota Association of Counties update regarding Clerks of Court and the <br />new child support enforcement system. <br /> <br />18.
